Racial Equity and Economic Opportunity Research

At the heart of the O-Lab’s mission is the development of rigorous evidence on how social policy can promote racial equity and economic opportunity. Our researchers are dedicated to addressing pervasive issues of systemic racism and developing solutions grounded in the highest-quality research. With leadership from faculty across the O-Lab network, this initiative addresses a wide range of issues including discrimination in the labor market, environmental justice, and education.

The projects at the core of this agenda are all focused on identifying how and where racial discrimination and disparities continue to impact communities of color. These projects address topics as varied as labor market employment and wage policy, emerging technologies, and social safety net protections.
